If you require an extension to your access after you submit your thesis, you need to request an extension to your Arts computer account and door access either by email or the helpdesk in Room 2.32 Arts Building.
Your account may expire at the end of semester, as all lab accounts are validated against student records. When it appears that your units are not currently valid we send an email alert. Your lab account will be restored once you re-enrol in at least one active Arts unit, otherwise you will be notified two weeks later when the account expires.
You should back up your own data and not rely on Faculty facilities.
Be extremely cautious about opening links from any unsolicited or unusual email. If you don't know the sender, just delete the email message. AusCERT provides further information on protecting your home or non-ITS managed computer.
There are some basic details that students should be aware of when using the Arts computer labs.
All students enrolled in an Arts unit, including part-time and combined degrees students, have free access to the Arts computer labs. Use of the labs is subject to terms and conditions.

Internet access, including email, is charged if you download (receive) more than about 250kb a day. It is a cumulative allowance over several days, so moderate users who comply with the University's terms and conditions are unlikely to incur significant charges.
If you have trouble activating your account, using your account, or you require more specific references or information, please email support, making sure that you include your contact details.
