All employees of the Faculty of Arts have a responsibility to co-operate with their colleagues to achieve a safe and healthy workplace, and to take reasonable care of themselves and others.
Please refer to the Faculty of Arts Safety and Health Handbook for guidelines and procedures:
The immediate manager or supervisor must ensure that all new members of staff (includes anyone that carries out tasks and activities under the auspices of the Faculty) are inducted for safety and health as soon as practicable, using the Online Safety Induction system via the UWA Safety and Health office.
All UWA staff with a staff number will automatically be enrolled in the induction and may login with their staff number and Pheme password at the University's Learning Management System (LMS). See the link above for more information.
Copies of certificates of completion must be provided to supervisors as evidence of completion, and kept on file.
All staff should be made aware of their building's emergency evacuation or lockdown procedures. Staff may refer to section 2.5 of the Safety and Health Handbook, or make an appointment to meet with the Building Warden.
For more information please refer to the Safety and Health webpage on dealing with hazards, incidents and emergencies.
Note: Managers are Safety Officers of their building by default.
