Alex Burt is employed in her family's wine business, Voyager Estate in Margaret River.

A Bachelor of Arts (Hons) graduate of The University of Western Australia, she has been active in the family's interests for six years and has been in her current role for three years. She is responsible for running the operations of a business that covers agriculture, wine production, hospitality and tourism.

In the wine industry, Alex is a 2007 graduate of the national wine industry's inaugural Future Leaders program. She was the only West Australian to be accepted into the first intake of the program. She is also a member of the Board of the Wine Industry Association of Western Australia and a member of the Executive Committee of the Margaret River Wine Industry Association.

She has joined the Winemakers' Federation of Australia Small Winemakers' Committee as one of two West Australian representatives.

In non-industry activities, she is Patron of the West Australian Ballet's Ballet Circle, a philanthropy program.
