Ethics in the Afternoon: for Translators and Interpreters

Come and join a distinguished panel of agency owners and fellow practitioners for an afternoon of discussion on the ethical side of delivering language services. Are you sure you follow best practice when certifying documents? Do you demand to see the originals? Are you comfortable with providing extracts? What do you do, when told: “Please don’t interpret this.” Or: “The patient’s family wants to do the interpreting, you can go home”. Do you need to tell someone if you believe the client is lying?

The discussion will be followed by a short presentation from special guest Mr Paul Garrity, representing Donate Life. He will be talking about the interesting topic of organ donation... whether as individuals or as professionals, we are likely to find ourselves dealing with this issue at some point in our lives … let’s find out what we need to know!
