The information on this web page applies to postgraduate students, both research and coursework, in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Resources for Postgraduate StudentsInfrastructure resources The Faculty provides the following resources to support Postgraduate Students: - Access to computer labs (rooms G.31 and G.33, ground floor Arts Building)
- Internet access
- Printing facilities of up to 300 pages per annum (may rise up to 600 pages for final year or final preparation of the thesis)
- Photocopying of up to 1000 copies per annum
- Research related postage, fax, and telephone access of up to $50 per annum
- Desk accommodation at the Postgraduate Student Study Rooms. Carrels with a lockable cupboard, network and power points for
laptops, and a shared phone are available in each of rooms 1.30, 1.31, 1.54A and 1.54B on the first floor of the Arts Building (map). For further details and application form for carrels please refer to the terms & conditions, or contact Jenny Pynes (Arts Building, room G.43) for arrangements. If preferred, students are also welcome to apply for a carrel in the library or a
desk in the Reid Library's Scholars Centre.
- A small meeting/tea room is available for Postgraduates on the ground floor of the Arts building, next to the computer labs.
Research funding Various funding for research and conference travel are available to postgraduate students to aid in their research activities. Further information on funding, and details on how to access infrastructure support and funding, are available via the School's websites: Awards for Postgraduate StudentsThe Faculty has two main awards for postgraduate students: The Faculty offers a competitive grant to assist postgraduates who have recently completed PhDs, and FAHSS
