Overview

Applying for a Postgraduate Coursework course is simple, all you have to do is:

1. Make contact
2. Get organised
3. Apply!

Please note: these instructions are written specifically for domestic applicants applying for a Postgraduate Coursework course.

If you are a domestic applicant seeking admission into a Postgraduate Research course  - please contact the Graduate Research School.

1. Make contact

It is recommended that you contact the relevant Postgraduate Coordinator to discuss your study plans and ask any queries you may have relating to the course.

2. Get organised

As part of your application you will need to upload / submit:

• Proof of citizenship / residency status
  Birth certificate, or
  Passport, or
  Passport with relevant visa, or
  Certificate of Australian citizenship
  
  
• Academic transcripts
  Transcripts must be official, up-to-date, including marks and letter grades. UWA transcripts do not need to be provided.
  
  
• Proof of English language competence (ELC)
  All applicants must demonstrate English Language Competence (ELC). Read more about meeting ELC requirements on the ELC for undergraduate and postgraduate coursework studies page.
  
  Domestic students will generally meet UWA's English Language Competence if they have completed sufficient Degree studies in Australia, demonstrated with official university Academic Transcripts (as above).
  
  
• Proof of name change
  If you have documents in different names you will need to show evidence of name change with documents such as a marriage certificate or change of name certificate.

3. Apply!

Applications for postgraduate studies handled by the Faculty of Arts are open as follows:

START 2013
Semester 1 application dates:
Open 1 September 2012
Close 8 February 2013

Please note that some courses have earlier closing dates due to non-standard teaching periods:

Music
Semester 1 application dates:
Open 1 September 2012
Close 14 December 2012
(course starts mid-January 2013)

Archaeology
Semester 1 application dates:
Open 1 September 2012
Close 8 February 2013
(course starts early-March 2013)
