How to Apply

 

Overview

Applying for a Postgraduate Coursework course is simple, all you have to do is:

  1. Make contact
  2. Get organised
  3. Apply!

Please note: these instructions are written specifically for domestic applicants applying for a Postgraduate Coursework course.

If you are a domestic applicant seeking admission into a Postgraduate Research course  - please contact the Graduate Research School.

If you are an International applicant - please contact the International Office.

1. Make contact

It is recommended that you contact the relevant Postgraduate Coordinator to discuss your study plans and ask any queries you may have relating to the course.

2. Get organised

As part of your application you will need to upload / submit:

  • Proof of citizenship / residency status
    Birth certificate, or
    Passport, or
    Passport with relevant visa, or
    Certificate of Australian citizenship

  • Academic transcripts
    Transcripts must be official, up-to-date, including marks and letter grades. UWA transcripts do not need to be provided.

  • Proof of English language competence (ELC)
    If you are from a non-English speaking background you may need to show proof of English Language Competence (ELC). Read more about meeting ELC requirements on askUWA

  • Proof of name change
    If you have documents in different names you will need to show evidence of name change with documents such as a marriage certificate or change of name certificate.

Applications for postgraduate studies handled by the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences are open as follows:

MIDYEAR 2012
Applications open:
 1 May 2012
Applications close: 13 July 2012
Semester 2 begins: 30 July 2012

START 2013
Applications open:
mid November 2012 (exact dates TBC)
Applications close: mid January 2013 (exact dates TBC)
Semester 1 begins: 25 February 2013

Current UWA students and recent graduates apply online via Student Connect
All other Australian applicants apply online via OASys

Higher Degree by Research Preliminary (10490) applications are submitted in hardcopy. Application forms can be printed from the web, then submitted to the Arts Student Office.
