This course is designed for performers, teachers or anyone with a suitable background in the music profession and who requires professional development at postgraduate level in critical reflection.
It relates to music performance, music pedagogy, music medicine, social anthropology and psychology.
Practical skills are the focal point of all investigative work.
This course is based on a series of home-based learning assignments delivered through WebCT/textbook materials.
Throughout the program, in coursework units, students are encouraged to investigate social, psychological, creative, educational, therapeutic, and anthropological music practitioner approaches.
At all points of the course, the emphasis is on the students practitioner experiences and needs.
Students must complete units to a total of 48 points, studying full-time (1.5 years) or part-time (3 years). International students may only study this course full-time.
