CHANGES IN 2012

Please note that as of 2012 Social Work and Social Policy will move to the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, to become part of the School of Population Health.


FEES

This enables practising social workers to build on their knowledge of advanced social work theory and practice, and research methods.

It is open to social work graduates with a minimum of two years' experience as a professional social worker.

The graduate certificate is intended for people who already hold a degree but who wish to undertake further study so that they can proceed to a graduate diploma and possibly also a master's degree, or who wish to obtain advanced qualifications in a specific area of expertise.

It will also facilitate the development of specific expertise in the chosen area(s) of study and a variety of generic skills which will complement specialised or professional degrees.

Course outline

The course involves full-time study for one semester, or equivalent part-time (up to a maximum two years). International students may only study on a full-time basis.

The course consists of units to a total value of 24 points.

Students may proceed to the Graduate Diploma in Advanced Social Work on completion.
