Useful links

This graduate certificate provides the specialist practical skills and knowledge required to be employed in, or to lead students to, higher-degree research in the field of maritime archaeology.

This course is taught by archaeologists at both The University of Western Australia (UWA) and The Department of Maritime Archaeology, Western Australian Museum (WAMM).

The graduate certificate is intended for people who already hold a degree but who wish to undertake further study so that they can obtain advanced qualifications in a specific area of expertise. It will also facilitate the development of a variety of generic skills which will complement specialised or professional degrees.

Course outline

The Certificate of Applied Maritime Archaeology is designed as a full-time program with 6-7 weeks of intensive training and will commence in 2011.

The course may be completed either full-time or part-time (international students may only study full-time).

Admission requirements

A bachelor's degree in Archaeology or a related discipline. If applicants are to dive then qualifications are required.
