Studying arts teaches you skills such as expertise in communicating in a variety of media, reasoning ability, problem solving and both critical and creative thinking. Knowledge of the history of human behaviour, different cultures, literatures and languages clarify present situations. There are over 25 different study areas to choose from in undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Undergraduate courses

Undergraduates have a range of choices under the Bachelor of Arts degree, including:

• Bachelor of Arts with majors
  Provides you with the most flexibility with 22 majors to choose from.
• Honours
  Usually a fourth year of study focusing on your major subjects while developing skills in research and communication.
• Diploma in Modern Languages
  Study a language alongside your Bachelor Degree.

Postgraduate courses

Postgraduates have a choice of both coursework and research.

• Coursework degrees involve mainly attending classes and possibly writing a thesis. Examples are graduate certificate and graduate diploma courses.
• Research degrees involve, in many cases exclusively, performing research and writing a thesis. Examples are PhD's and the master's by research degree.
