There are more than two dozen areas of study from which you can choose.

Undergraduate courses

Undergraduates have a range of choices under the Bachelor of Arts degree, including:

• Bachelor of Arts with majors
  Provides you with the most flexibility with 22 majors to choose from.
• Specialist degrees
  Lead to a named degree and units are more strictly prescribed.
• Combined degrees
  Combining Arts with another course allows you to graduate with two degrees.
• Honours
  Usually a fourth year of study focusing on your major subjects while developing skills in research and communication.
• Diplomas
  If you are studying a degree other than Arts, you can still study an Arts subject as a one-year Diploma.

Postgraduate courses

Postgraduates have a choice of both coursework and research.

• Coursework degrees involve mainly attending classes and possibly writing a thesis. Examples are graduate certificate and graduate diploma courses.
• Research degrees involve, in many cases exclusively, performing research and writing a thesis. Examples are PhD's and the master's by research degree.

International students

The International Centre provides support and information for international students on admission, fees and visas.

International students can:

• enrol to study full-time
• come and study at UWA for a semester or two
• search for exchange universities
• get credit for prior study
